What do you anticipate might be challenging for you? *

The hosting placement you choose is either in Greifswald (a small city with about 50.000 inhabitans) or in the rural surrounding region called “Vorpommern”. The weather conditions can be very different from your home place: Winters are cold, there is often a lot of rain and strong wind. You will also be far away from family and friends for one year. You have to take care of yourself, for example by making food, cleaning, and doing leisure activities on your own. You will share an apartment with one or two other volunteers who you do not know yet. They may be different in mood, age and interests from you. Have you familiarized yourself with the geographical region where you want to spend one year and how it may affect you? How do you feel about facing new physical and environmental challenges? How comfortable are you with taking care of your own living arrangements, meals, and daily tasks?
