Internationaler Partner Workshop in Greifswald

After a long 1 1/2 year break, we were able to organize and conduct a partner workshop with international guests in Greifswald in August. We are happy and grateful that this meeting was finally possible again. With colleagues from Jordan, Norway, Poland and Lithuania we exchanged ideas on the topic of "mental health in voluntary service".

Face-to-face meetings are essential for our work at Turbina Pomerania. During the pandemic, they could (only) take place online - also successfully, but still not the same as a meeting on site. Therefore, on August 23rd and 24th, after a long wait, a lot of organization (and some anxiety whether it would really work), we were especially happy to hold our international partner workshop at STRAZE.

Colleagues from our partner organizations in voluntary service came from Poland (MODE Foundation, Wrozlaw), Jordan (Youth Spirit Center, Amman). Lithuania (A.C. Patria, Kaunas) and Norway (ECCO, Svelgen).

During the two days there was a lot of time for personal exchange, to get to know each other and of course to present our work in the Pomerania region. So we were not only in the STRAZE, but also had great excursions to our hosting organisations in the Kulturhaus Steinfurth and the kindergarten Wilde 9, which inspired our guests.

In addition, the workshop had the thematic focus "mental health in voluntary service". Many young people who do an (international) voluntary service reach points of mental overload during their voluntary year: questions about the future can be stressful, problems from home usually come to the surface at a later stage. We got into conversation with our guests on the topic, exchanged experiences, and learned valuable background knowledge from a speaker.
