A Year of Voluntary Service Abroad?

Get to know our network and our hosting organisations around the world!

Attention! This page is for you if you currently live in Germany and want to go abroad.

We have been sending young people abroad for volunteer service since 2013. This has resulted in a fantastic network of host organizations that continues to grow. On this page, you will find all currently available opportunities, information on the application process, and general information about the program.

We offer all volunteer service placements abroad through the European Solidarity Corps (formerly the “European Voluntary Service”). To participate, you must be 18 years old at the start of your volunteer service and register on the programme page. For some of the opportunities it is possible to apply as a team (2-3 people).

Do you have questions? Feel free to contact us at: application[at]turbina-pomerania[dot]org.

As a recognized sending organization, we can also place you in other countries and at new host organizations through the program that are not listed here. If you've found a placement on your own and still need a German sending organization, just send us an email.

Would you like advice on other opportunities to go abroad? Then check out our Eurodesk information page. As a partner in this nationwide network, we provide free and impartial advice on all possibilities for a stay abroad.

Open opportunities for ESC abroad

Our opportunities abroad are only applicable for participants from Germany, therefore the information (so far) only exists in German. Please change the language settings in the menue and switch to the German version of this page.

Important note: We are an organization based in Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. There are very few programs and sending organizations for international volunteering in our region. For this reason, applicants from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will be given priority. Until the end of June, only young people from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania may apply for the available positions abroad. Starting in July, we will allocate any remaining spots to applicants from all over Germany.

If you're from another state, it's worth checking out the databases of the European Solidarity Corps and the Federal Volunteer Service. There you'll find contacts in your area.

Requirements for the ESK abroad

  • You are from Germany and hold a permanent resident here (you do not have to be a German citizen)
  • You are between 18 and 30 years old at the start of the project
  • You have the time and desire to live in another country for the entire duration of the project, learn a new language, gain new experiences, meet new people, and pitch in with local activities

You may still know the European Solidarity Corps by its former name, "European Voluntary Service." That was its name before 2018. You can find helpful information about the program on the website www.solidaritaetskorps.de. All available placements worldwide can be found in the European Commission’s database. You can reach out to organizations on your own initiative to inquire about available positions, or browse projects that are already listed here.
