Apply for ESK abroad?

Please note:

  • To apply, you must be at least 18 and no more than 30 years old (at the start of your volunteer service)
  • You must have registered for the ESK via the European Youth Portal and will need your participant number ("PRN")
  • You must be from Germany and hold a permanent resident here (you do not have to be a German citizen)

It is not Turbina Pomerania that decides who gets the positions, but the host organizations abroad. We forward all applications, and you will receive an update on the status of your application. The application form must therefore be filled out in English. Please contact us if you need help with it.

A quick note on AI: Please do not use artificial intelligence to write your application. We’re not perfect, and neither do you have to be. Please answer all questions spontaneously in your own words.

Ready to apply? Let’s get started...

You can apply to 1 organisation. If you want to apply for more than one position, the application form has to be filled a second time. It is important that you then answer the questions specifically regarding the different hosting organisation. If you send the same answers for several places none of your applications will be considered. It is really important to take some time and think about why exactly you choose the place you are applying to and what you find specifically interesting. We highly recommend to apply to one position only.

Your Motivation
We are not perfect, so you don’t have to be perfect, either. With this first question we want to be able to imagine an honest picture of yourself. Who are you? What is important to you in life? What do you like to do in your leisure time? What is your current occupation (for example school/education/work/unemployment)?
Why do you think the project is interesting? What is most important and how does it relate to you? Feel free to share your personal motivations, goals, or anything specific that draws you to this opportunity.
Please briefly describe your working and volunteering experience. Can you remember a time when you worked in a team before? What do you hope to gain from this volunteer experience, both personally and professionally?
It is okay if you have no previous experience. What aspects of yourself and what talents would you like to share with the project if you become their next volunteer?
The hosting placement you choose is in a different country. This might be a new experience for you. The weather conditions can be different from Germany. You will also be far away from family and friends for one year. You have to take care of yourself, for example by making food, cleaning, and doing leisure activities on your own. You will share an apartment with one or more other volunteers who you do not know yet. They may be different in mood, age and interests. Have you familiarized yourself with the geographical region and how it may affect you? How do you feel about facing new physical and environmental challenges? How comfortable are you with taking care of your own living arrangements, meals, and daily tasks?
Is there anything else you want to share? What do we need to know so you can have a good volunteering experience?
You may upload your CV in .pdf-format. It is not mandatory. If you choose to upload your CV please do not add any pictures.
