High school graduation on the horizon? The end of your education is approaching? Or you just want to do something completely different for a year and get to know new perspectives? A volunteer year is always a good idea. Apply now for our vacancies from summer 2023...

One Year of Volunteering in Greifswald or nearby

That means: An (educational) year for yourself, participating in great seminars, meeting other volunteers from many different countries, experiencing new things, trying out new things, getting to know other perspectives. That sounds like a good idea? Then apply now!

Check out the available open positions in the European Voluntary Service in Greifswald and nearby, e.g. the open sewing-workshop "Kabutze", the kindergarten "Wilde 9", and the Polish-German project Gutshaus Ramin.

All vacancies are located in Western Pomerania (German: "Vorpommern") and are realized within the EU-programme European Solidarity Corps. Programme start for all open international positions is September 6th 2023.

 

You will:

  • receive pocket money and money for food expenses each month (according to the applicable amount set by the German National Agency each year)
  • receive compensation for travel expenses in the form of a lump-sum (according to the distance between your home address and your hosting organisation)
  • receive free medical-, travel-, and third-party insurance
  • have the opportunity to study German during your voluntary year
  • live together with other (international) volunteers in a shared apartment close to your hosting organization (each volunteer will have an own room with bathroom, kitchen and living room shared with the flatmates)
  • receive support with all essential things such as visa application (if applicable), registrational process in Germany, mobility in Germany, ...

As a volunteer, you will participate in the national "on arrival" and "midterm" seminar (2 full weeks). Moreover, you will participate in seminars organizes by Turbina Pomerania together with other local and international volunteers. As a rule, these are 4 full weeks and additional individual seminar days. You can find the exact dates in the FAQs.

To apply, please send a motivational letter (approx. 1 page A4, no pictures, no videos) to application[at]turbina-pomerania[dot]org.

The letter should be addressed to the hosting organization and answer the following questions:

  • Why do you want to spend one year as a volunteer in this specific organization?
  • What do you hope / expect to learn?
  • What do you think you will contribute to the organization?
  • What is your previous experience in the working field of the organization and/or as a volunteer in your country
  • What are your hobbies and other topics of interest?

There is no deadline for applications. Instead, open positions will be assigned on an ongoing basis. Being fast is recommended :-)
